The playgroup has six staff and all have a current enhanced DBS certificate.
Mair Harris
Playgroup Leader/Additional Learning Needs Coordinator
Qualifications
Mair holds a Cache Level 3 Diploma in Playgroup Practice
She holds a current First Aid Certificate, a level three Safeguarding Certificate and a Level 2 Award in food and hygiene.
Mair has worked at the Playgroup/Nursery since 1994 and has been its leader since 2001.
Mair has experience of working with children with additional learning needs and is passionate about providing equal opportunities for all.
Ann Martin
Deputy Leader
Qualifications
Ann holds a Cache level 3 Diploma in Playgroup Practice.
She holds a current First Aid Certificate, a level three Safeguarding Certificate and a QNUK Level 2 Award in food Safety.
Ann has worked at the Playgroup/Nursery since 1994 and has been its Deputy Leader since 2001.
Ann's career in Early Years started at the Playgroup by supporting a child with Additional needs. To this day Ann is still in contact with her and her family.
Amie Harris
Playgroup Assistant
Qualifications
Amie has an NVQ level 2 in childcare and is currently half way through her level 3 Children's Care, Play, Learning and Development qualification. She holds a current First Aid Certificate, a level three Safeguarding Certificate and a QNUK Level 2 Award in food Safety. Amie first joined us in 2010 and after working on a one to one basis with a child with additional learning needs, she then continued to support the child at Abercerdin Nursery for one more year. Following this Amie went on to work in the Special Needs Unit at Pencoed Comprehensive School working as a Teachers Assistant for two years. We were delighted to welcome Amie back to the playgroup when she decided that her real passion was to work in an early years setting.
Samantha Leigh
Playgroup Assistant
Qualifications
Sam has a cache level 3 qualification in
childcare and is currently working towards her level 4 and 5 qualification in leadership and management.
Sam holds a current first Aid Certificate, a level 3 Safeguarding Certificate and a level two certificate in Food Hygiene.
Before starting work at
the playgroup Sam gained valuable
experience as a Teaching Assistant in Penygawsi School, Talbot Green. We were delighted to welcome Sam to our dedicated team in September 2017.
Bethan Davies
Playgroup Assistant
Qualifications
Beth joined us a permanent member of staff in September 2022.
and is currently half way through her level 3 Children's Care, Play, Learning and Development qualification.
She holds a current First Aid Certificate, a level three Safeguarding Certificate and a QNUK Level 2 Award in food Safety.
We are incredibly lucky to have Beth join our dedicated team.
Gaynor Price
Playgroup Assistant (Emergency Cover)
Qualifications
Gaynor joined us an Emergency Cover member of staff in 2020.
She holds a current First Aid Certificate, and a level three Safeguarding Certificate.
We are incredibly lucky to have Gaynor as part of our team. She has over 30 years experience of working with children.
